Last season’s 2021 NBA 3-Point contest winner was Steph Curry, putting on a show yet again.
Participants last season: Steph Curry, Zach LaVine, Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Mike Conley.
Last season there were only six participants instead of the usual 8 contestants for the shootout due to the league’s desire to keep travel/exposure to a minimum. They only had All-Star Game participants involved for those reasons.
The number of participants this year has not yet been confirmed, so let’s assume they take in 8. I’ll list my top 10 and we can go from there. There will be an honorable mentions section as well that will include several deserving players, as we have a field of some extremely talented snipers from deep this year.
The loose criteria will be looking for players above 38% three-point shooting while taking into consideration the volume, difficulty of shots, role, and other factors outside of just the statistics.
Here are some of the best shooters in the NBA thus far in the 2021-22 season! Some of these guys may decline, be injured or on the COVID-list, so listing 10 rather than 8 gives us some wiggle room.

2.6/6.5 3PFGs — 40.5% 3P — 81 threes made — 86.6% FT
Booker’s three-point shooting has taken quite the leap, and he has won the contest in the past.
2.9/6.9 3PFGs — 41.6% 3P — 112 threes made — 90.6% FT
Bane needs to be in this contest, no questions asked. He’s one of the premier shooters in the association and should be treated as such.

3.1/7.5 3PFGs — 41.4% 3P — 106 threes made — 86.4% FT
LaVine has put on a show in the dunk contest in the past and fallen short in the three-point contest in consecutive years. He’s having a great season and remains one of the best shooters in the league, so a third straight invite could be in store for the Bulls star guard.

2.7/6.4 3PFGs — 42.0% 3P — 102 total threes — 86.4% FT
